Howard Pyle's "Overconfidence"

 Howard Pyle's "Overconfidence" was published on February 10, 1885 and then in 1886 published in  Pepper and Salt or Seasoning for Young Folk.*

  The above image or "Overconfidence" was found in a scrapbook from Ashtabula, Ohio (coming to Passed Time in the near future).** It has all of the charm associated with Pyle.  Unfortunately, scholars claim that the popularity of his poems have not enjoyed the same lifespan as that of his illustrator art. Passed Time also has an article on one of Pyle's students and colleagues, Frank Schoonover.
