Happy Birthday Passed Timew

      Passed Time is celebrating its first year--and a successful one it was! For a website that has had minimal advertisement and was in the beta-testing period for a good portion of this year its received many views (187,000 plus) and the daily number of hits is on a steady rise as is the rate of returning readers. Alas, the founding four did not do it alone and we want to take a moment to recognize that fact. 

     We want to thank all of Passed Time's contributing authors, including book reviewer Emily Locke. We also want to thank our bloggers, historical societies, auction houses, newspapers such as the Dover Post which run history related pieces and allow us to link, historic sites, travel organizations, genealogical websites, museums,  theaters, and libraries. Whew! Thank you all for making this first year exceptional. 

 

      Looking ahead, we are working on expansions to Passed Time in the hopes of building a useful forum for history, nostalgia, and genealogy buffs. These expansions will have tools for everyone's use, so check back for changes. If you should have ideas or suggestions, pass them along. 

     If anyone belonging to a non-profit organization fitting our parameters is reading this thinking, "Hey! We want to announce our activities on Passed Time!," --you can. It is free for non-profits to advertise activities and exhibits here. Simply add us to your press contacts (media inquiries at the bottom of the page) and we will get your events up and visible.

  *Image courtesy of private collection. Circa 1940's it was found amongst many greeting cards addressed to Doris Hanby of Wilmington, Delaware. Although this particular card has no identifying marks beyond "Joan," it was probably sent to Hanby. As for Hanby, more research needs to be done. For greeting card enthusiasts it is a Doubl-Glo, circa late 1940's.
