     A bible record found in Pennsylvania gives biographical details about the Christian Beachdel and Rebecca Askey family. They married March 10, 1841, but no location was noted on the record. The names Beachdel and Askey suggest a family of “English” heritage.
      This record caught my attention because German-language records from Pennsylvania often had decoration in the writing. This is an English-language record, removed from the bible, but the penman who wrote it added color and minor decoration, just as Pennsylvania Germans often did.
      The record says Christian Beachdel (whose name is also spelled Beachdle and Bechdel in this record) was born January 8, 1808. His wife, Rebecca Askey, was born November 18, 1818.beachdelbackw

Susan Elizabeth Beachdel, born February 10, 1844. 
Nelson Askey Beachdel, born March 6, 1846.
Mary Ann Beachdel, born November 11, 1848.

Nancy Jane Beachdel, born January 27, 1852.
Rachel Beachdel was born July 13, 1853.
Deaths were listed as follows:
Susan E. Beachdel, died February 23, 1844.
Rachel Beachdel died August 1, 1853.
Rebecca Beachdel, wife of Christian, died August 10, 1855.
Christian D. Beachdel died December 15, 1856.
