Fun with Dick and Jane....and Hilda and Joe

 Fun with Joe and Janew

Do you know what clickbait is? For those who do not know, clickbait is the term for "articles" with sensationalistic headlines or tantalizing photographs which lure readers to click on them. This act leads readers to another website where they become mired in an endless labyrinth of webjunk (did I just coin a word?). Most of the times the webjunk is completely unrelated to the headline or photo that caused one to click on it in the first place. The process leaves the reader hanging their head and weeping in frustration because they fell for it again--or that is what I have heard. I've personally never fallen for it. I swear. I SWEAR!

So, what exactly does this have to do with fun with Dick and Hilda..and Joe and Jane? I feel like I am clickbaiting our readers, even though we swore we would never allow it here on Passed Time.  I do not know the identities of Dick and Hilda or Joe and Jane. This brief article hardly divulges any historical clue or grand genealogical find. Nevertheless, I found the notation on the postcard so charming that I could not help but share. That Dick and Hilda left this card for their friends to find at some later date is a bit of whimsy too fun to ignore. Not everything from the past has some monumental impact. Every so often some fleeting, random, and fun moment is preserved.

And, yes, the postcard was found marking a place in the "Big Chagall Book." Best, Pat1
